Carina UK – #CrimeClub – THIS Friday

#CrimeClub copy

Join me on Twitter this Friday (UK time) at noon for Carina UK’s second Crime Club instalment.

I’ll be answering any questions you may have about the DCI Claire Winters series, writing in general, advice or anything else you might want to know that’s writing related!

I hope some of you will join me, and I look forward to answering any questions people have. Be sure to use the hashtag #CrimeClub, when sending your tweets.

It’s publication day!

The Principle of Evil is out today!

The Principle of Evil - 2016

Blurb –

A body has been found in a frozen lake, bringing a gruesome act of evil into the light.

One look at the victim is enough for DCI Claire Winters to recognise the work of a warped mind. And when another woman is reported missing, Claire’s worst fears are confirmed: this is a killer who plans to strike again.

As the body count rises, the pressure is on for Claire to find the perpetrator and bring them to justice. But first, she must learn to understand the twisted mind behind the crimes. And that will take her to a darker place than she ever thought possible.

The book has come a long way since I self-published it in 2013, and the changes made are for the better, I think. There are some new scenes, further character development and an unresolved issue with one character (that I had originally intended to reveal in book 3), has made it into the last edit of ‘Principle’.

I’ve also added a mini cliff-hanger at the end, that will be taken into the next book, so anyone who has read the older version of the novel might want to have a read of the newer version.

I’ll have another update on the series soon, but until then, ‘The Principle of Evil’, can be bought from all good e-retailers (Amazon UK, Amazon USA, for example).

No Kindle, or Kobo etc? Don’t forget, you can download the free apps to any tablet, iPhone, or Android device.

I’m celebrating pub-day with…more writing! 😀

BOOKS – a mini update

I have a mini update ahead of tomorrows release of the second DCI Claire Winters novel, ‘The Principle of Evil’ (which can still be pre-ordered here).

Book one, ‘For All Our Sins’, has gone from strength to strength.

Carina/HarperCollins – 2016 cover

It has been in the best-selling top 100 Kindle chart on Amazon UK for 21 days now, which is fantastic. I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve had for the book and a BIG thank you to those who have bought it.

Getting into that top 100 chart, out of hundreds of thousands of ebooks means so much. The best position that I’ve seen has been #56.

Also, it’s been doing well on Kobo. In the top 50 chart for Mystery & Suspense. Considering most of my sales seem to come via Amazon, I’m very pleased to hit the Kobo charts 🙂

‘The Principle of Evil’ has also featured in Amazon’s Hot New Releases chart and hit #1 in the Hot New Releases Serial Killer chart, ahead of its release date.

Once again, a massive thank you to those who have pre-ordered it and shared all over social media in general. It means a lot.

Until tomorrow . . .

Tania xoxo 😀

A trip to HarperCollins HQ

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go and see my publisher in their new office, The News building, at London Bridge (opposite the Shard).

I got to meet the Carina UK team, and see some of the wider Harlequin/HarperColins departments (MIRA, for example) as they work on various new releases. I also got to take away an advance copy of B A Paris’s début ‘Behind Closed Doors’.  If you haven’t heard of it yet, where have you been? It’s currently #1 in the Amazon UK top 100 Kindle chart. It’s next on my (huge) TBR pile.

The main reason for my visit, however, was to meet my editor properly and have a chat about the DCI Winters series, and my writing career.

We chatted over tea, looking out over the fantastic views of London. It was also exciting and lovely to hear that there were a few DCI Winters fans across the company.

I came away from the meeting feeling like my books were in very capable hands, with the team right behind me and the series.

I do have some news, that I will be sharing soon, but until then I’m preparing for the release of book 2, ‘The Principle of Evil’, which is available for pre-order (out 25th Feb).

Exciting (and nervous!) times ahead! 🙂

COVER REVEAL – Part two

And here it is! The cover for ‘The Principle of Evil’, book two in the DCI Claire Winters series.

The Principle of Evil - 2016

I was amazed when I first saw the cover this week. It captures some key elements of the story in one bold look, and I hope it will draw readers in when browsing online.

It’s not long until publication day – 25th February – the book is up for pre-order, and I’m filled with both excitement and nerves.

‘The Principle of Evil’ really is my ‘book baby’. It has a special place in my heart, and has come a long way from its very early conception in February 2011.

Between 2011 and now, the book has gone through many changes, agent requests, re-workings, to being self-published in 2013, and then being picked up by Carina UK , who are an imprint of HarperCollins.

It’s been nearly five years, and to see how far it has come during this time is amazing.

Roll on publication day!

COVER REVEAL – Part one

I have TWO cover reveals for you all today, the most important being the cover for book two in the DCI Claire Winters series, ‘The Principle of Evil’, which is coming in the next post, but first, let’s talk about book one.

I can now share the BRAND NEW (updated and improved) cover for ‘For All Our Sins’!

For All Our Sins - NEW 2016 COVER

I only found out at the beginning of the week that book one was getting a ‘makeover’ cover, and at first I was confused. ‘For All Our Sins’ has only been out for (almost) four months. That’s a very short amount of time, but the team at Carina UK regularly look at the trends in publishing and find ways to improve to meet demand when marketing an author’s ‘brand’.

With eBooks it is fairly easy to update content and after careful thought, the team have come up with a fantastic new look and cover.

As much as I did like the previous version, I have to say, I absolutely LOVE the new one. Let me know what you think.

Coming up next is the cover reveal for ‘The Principle of Evil’ . . .  😀

Merry Christmas!

BROKEN PALACE SHAREABLE - FREE

Merry Christmas to you all!

Very quick post today before I log off until the New Year.

I’ve been busy these last few weeks doing the revisions for book 2, ‘The Principle of Evil’, which is now available for pre-order (final cover still to be revealed)

The publication date has been pushed back to 25th Feb. I’m excited for its release, but also nervous. I hope anyone who reads the slightly revised version, likes the changes I’ve made.

Once book two has been released I will be focusing on book 3 in the DCI Winters series AND working on my standalone simultaneously. I am also putting together ideas for a novella, entitled ‘In The Blood’.

I’ve worked for so long on book 1 and 2 in the DCI Winters series that I am very eager to get some new material released in 2016.

Lastly – My short story, ‘Broken Palace’ is FREE over the festive period.

Short and sweet, eh?

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year whatever you’re doing, and a massive thank you to everyone who has bought my books.

‘For All Our Sins’ has been doing so well with Carina UK/HarperCollins, and it’s storming the various Amazon UK Kindle charts. That’s definitely THE best Christmas present I could ask for.
